The Keepers by Brave Bold Drama

The keepers live in a lighthouse on an island. They are resourceful, resilient and ready for anything. Their lighthouse is just as ready for anything, with the seeming ability to transform into whatever the keepers need of it. The keepers keep the lighthouse, the island and they keep stories of their adventures too. But maybe you have seaside stories to share? Jot your costal memories down on a postcard then donate these via the post-box. See your memories reanimated by the keepers through wholesome improvised storytelling, imbued with humour and inventive storytelling techniques.

‘The Keepers’ is robust, small-scale lighthouse installation inspired by the British seaside, flanked by coastal paraphernalia associated with both work and play and manned by two lighthouse keepers. Join us at designated intervals throughout the course of the day to watch improvised stories inspired by your contributions, then use chalk provided to create your very own seaside artwork on the freestanding peep-blackboards or learn to create seaside-inspired origami (boats, a beach umbrella, sea creatures) to take away with you.  Devised and performed by award-winning family theatre company Brave Bold Drama.

The installation is open all day from 11:00 - 17:00.

Two performers on stage in a lively scene: the one on the left stands energetically with a bottle and a metal pot, while the seated one on the right plays a small guitar. Both wear beanies, scarves, and rubber boots, surrounded by colorful bunting, maps, and notes pinned to the wall, creating a whimsical atmosphere.
