FAQs

How much does it cost to go to the Harbour Festival?

It’s absolutely free. This economic miracle is achieved with support from Bristol City Council, income generated from exhibitors, caterers, official bars and sales of the festival programme. So, to keep the whole thing free, it would be great if you could buy a drink from an official bar, a bit of shopping from an exhibitor, food from one of our range of caterers and enjoy it all while reading a programme

When and where is this year’s festival?

The festival takes place on Friday 21st, Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd July and is based around Bristol’s historic Harbourside.

Will there be fireworks at this year’s festival?

No, there will be no fireworks at this year’s Bristol Harbour Festival . There has been so much building work on the Harbourside in recent years that we no longer have the space to construct a firing area and fallout zone . The projection display in 2015 was a one-off as part of the European Green Capital year.

What are the opening hours of the festival?

The festival has an evening programme of music starting on Friday 21st July at 6pm at the Amphitheatre Stage. On Saturday 22nd the festival opens at 12 noon and runs until 8pm. On Sunday 23rd the festival opens at 12 noon and runs until 6pm

What is the provision for lost/found children?

There are lost /found children points situated around the festival site. These are shown on the large information boards which are situated all around the harbourside.  If you have become separated from a member of your party, please notify a Steward (wearing AP Security uniforms)   who will contact our event control. If possible, leave a member of your party in the area where you last saw the person. It also helps if you write your mobile ‘phone number on your child’s hand using semi-permanent ink!

Can I bring my dog to the event?

Dogs are welcome but must be kept under control at all times, and please remember to clean up after them.

Where can I buy a programme?

You can buy the Harbour Festival programme at any of our official programme outlets dotted around the festival and various venues throughout the city.

Why don’t we publish the official programme on the festival website?

The answer is simple, if we publish the entire programme then we lose a lot of money. It may sound harsh but it’s simple economics and we hope that you understand the reasons for maintaining this policy.
